David Hill, who farms the land behind the Chequers and along Griston Road, has kindly let us know that they have harvested the onion field and the contractors are happy with their quota. All parishioners are welcome to glean onions on the field in the traditional way while the onions are on there.
NB: It was previously thought that the onions were on the field behind the Chequers. In fact the onions are on the adjacent field along Griston Road.
As you go out of Thompson on Griston Road, about 100m past the “30” sign, on the left there is a gap in the hedge and a pass over the ditch where it’s culverted. Enter through that and the onions are on the right side field.
